Montelparo. Sibillini Mountains District.

Montelparo seats on top of a hill between Fermo and Ascoli at 588 meters above sea level. To the north has the Ete Vivo valley, to the south the Aso valley and overlooks the Adriatic sea to the east and the Sibillini Range National Park to the west.
The Village has kept the medioeval pattern and buildings.
Just 969 inhabitants enjoy life here. During holiday seasons population doubles.

Archeological research has unveiled ruins going back to etruscan and roman times. A roman ellenistic temple has been found nearby referred to the ancient 'Cuma'.
During the XIII° century it became free town with its own government.
Franciscan and agostinian monks were at the centre of cultural and economic life.

In the Agostinian Monastery a unique little museum collects about 30 old transformed bycicles into itinerant shops or laboratories.
They go back to times when there were no cars and specific goods and services, not available at villages, arrived through cycling, with the laboratory embedded in the bike.

All around the village, the view spans onto wineyards and olive trees fields, cultivated allotments and woods.
Many english holiday makers have already choosen the area for their second home, as the landscape combines perfectly good climate, nature, art and good food.

If you are interested in buying a property, the holiday can be a good opportunity for you to get an idea of the place and get in contact with the locals and english people who have already purchased a country house around here.
